Caring for Our World
We at Edwards Church seek to share God’s love with all God’s people. We offer a warm welcome to everyone to join us for worship and become part of our community. We also offer food, shelter, and hope to people in need, and work for a world where everyone is treated with dignity. Our outreach includes:
- Collecting food for A Place to Turn Food Pantry in Natick, and used eyeglasses for the Lions Club.
- Participating in Mission trips. In recent years, youth and adults have traveled to West Virginia, North Carolina, Dominican Republic, Washington D.C., and New York City to build houses, glean fields, serve meals, and work with the Heifer Project.
- Supporting over 40 organizations which provide comfort and assistance to people in need. Our Board of Wider Missions supports such programs as: Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, Habitat for Humanity, Framingham Adult English as a Second Language.
- Supporting the work of over 60 missionaries all over the world. Through our contributions to the wider United Church of Christ, we participate in efforts all over the world to bring dignity and hope to people. Our mission projects are based on partnerships with local churches and organizations.
- Sponsoring a Tibetan child who is a refugee in India. Each month, a different family of Edwards Church provides monetary support to enable a child to attend school at the Tibetan Children’s Village.
- Creating quilts for children in foster care in Massachusetts.
- Building a relationship with Pathways Family Shelter, to create a library, offer craft and quilting workshops and support literacy programs.
