Thursday, March 1 Lenten Devotion

March 1, 2012 by admin

Thursday, March 1

“Forgive, and you will be forgiven; give and it will be given to you.  A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.”  –Luke 6:37b-38

Someone identified as “Lulubaggins 123” created a Youtube prayer, “a healing prayer, to be said before bedtime, allowing the Lord to heal us in our sleep.”

Lulubaggins123 writes this about the prayer:

“This is a prayer for forgiveness – for our sins and for what people have done to us. It asks God to go into our hearts as we sleep and heal us and help us forgive and heal people and relationships in our lives that have gone sour. I have found it really helpful in the past, especially as it helps us to reflect on the people we have had issues with and whether we have actually forgiven them, which can be a challenge!”

Check out the youtube video link below…

Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit,

go back into my memory as I sleep.

Every hurt that has ever been done to me,

heal that hurt.

Every hurt that I have ever caused to another person,

heal that hurt.

All the relationships that have been damaged in my whole life,

that I am not aware of, heal those relationships.

But Lord, if there is anything I need to do…

if I need to go to a person because they are still suffering from my hand,

bring to my awareness that person.

I choose to forgive, and I ask to be forgiven.

Remove whatever bitterness may be in my heart, Lord,

and fill the empty spaces with Your love.

Thank you Jesus. Amen.
