This beautiful tree was created by Patrick St. Pierre, from discarded soda and beer cans, to help make the space of Edwards Hall a welcoming space for people of all faiths. The tree is now on a pulley system, so it can be lowered whenever we want the cross visible. The space between the aluminum leaves allows the sky and the light to shine through; the window highlights the connection between the trees of God’s creation and this human-created tree.
May we be creative, O God, in making spaces of welcome and hospitality. Amen.
