On September 11, we will hold our annual Blessing of the Animals service with music led by members of our house bluegrass band “On the Fence.“ It’s become a years-long tradition and we hope you’ll join us for the fun!
It brings me such joy to teach my music appreciation class that I am planning two back-to-back evenings on Thursdays, 9/8 and 9/15. As ever, topics will be selected early each week and you never know what it may be. Baroque? Score reading? Synthesizers? Pop music? Movie scores? Or…. Some of each? Usually it’s closer to the last one there. Sessions are completely independent and in no sequence, so come as you are able and tell a friend!
Log in (https://questrom.zoom.us/j/826916019) for 6:30pm and I’ll let you go in time for Double Jeopardy!
As we will be outside throughout September, please consider stepping up to the treehouse to sing with the Morning Glory choir who lead the hymns. No rehearsal, come as you are.
I can’t say what will happen when we are back in the sanctuary in mid-October. It’s simply too soon to tell, but you can be sure there will be music making and music education one way or another. And you know who will be helping to take you “there,” that special state of mind that can only come when music is your companion.
Peace,
Rick Seaholm, Commissioned Minister of Music
