I Am My Neighbor’s Keeper – A Benefit Concert Supporting A Place to Turn Food Pantry
Sunday, October 5 @ 3 pm – In the sanctuary
Together with nine other faith communities, Open Spirit and Edwards Church’s Justice and Love in Action Team are hosting a jazz concert to benefit A Place to Turn food pantry. Entitled I Am My Neighbor’s Keeper, the concert features compositions which respond to the political and racial division in our country, highlighting our commitment to one another and reminding us that as our neighbor’s keeper, we should help one another.
The concert will feature a double quartet (one of the quartets being a string quartet), led by Mr. Avery Sharpe who has performed with a host of jazz greats such as Dizzy Gillespie, Yusef Lateef, Freddie Hubbard and
Wynton Marsalis. The compositions are laden with Jazz, Gospel, African, Blues and other influences.
Admission is free, and all free-will donations are appreciated. A donation range of $30 – $80 is suggested for those who are able. All proceeds will be used to address hunger in the MetroWest area through A Place to Turn food pantry.
The Justice and Love in Action team is seeking volunteers to assist with the event. Please speak to Debbie C, Fran, Heather, Peggy, Grace, Noah, or Ronda if you are available. Thank you!
