Open my eyes, so that I may behold
wondrous things out of your law.—Psalm 119:18
At Open Spirit’s Iftar on Monday night, we were blessed with two fascinating speakers. Both of them talked about Ramadan as a time of heightened awareness. They talked about the ways the practices of fasting, prayer, and giving charity helped them to slow down, notice and appreciate the world around them.
Today, as you eat one of your meals, I invite you to slow down. Take time to notice texture and taste. See what changes.
Open our eyes…and our ears and our taste buds and our hearts…so we may behold your wondrous things. Amen.
