
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?’ He said to him, ‘Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my lambs.’ 16A second time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ He said to him, ‘Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Tend my sheep.’ 17He said to him the third time, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ Peter felt hurt because he said to him the third time, ‘Do you love me?’ And he said to him, ‘Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep. –John 21:15-17
The Just Peace Players wrote this mini-drama on the First of March in 2010. I hope you find it relevant today.

Character 1: I have enough to eat…every day!
Character 2: My stomach doesn’t growl every day…I’m full.
Character 3: My sister and I don’t cry ourselves to sleep because we are hungry.
All: We have enough to eat.

3: I didn’t know you could have this much food every day.
2: I didn’t know that I could feed my children food that would nourish them every day.
1: I didn’t know that there was enough to go around
All: We thought we would always be hungry.
[They exchange food bowls.]

3: I have enough to share…I know people need it.
2: I have enough to share…I just didn’t know how to get it to the people that needed it.
1: I have more than enough to share…I used to throw food away…until I heard, really heard Jesus say “Feed my sheep.”
All : And now we are.

3: I eat less red meat because it helps the planet and we have other food.
2: My company helps farmers across the globe develop sustainable agriculture.
1: I’ve discovered new ways to share my food and money and to love my neighbors.
All: We can create a new world after all. Won’t you join us?
