What are we doing? Here is a recap from our June 3 meeting.
Debbie led us in an opening prayer. We discussed adding new members.
May Events Recap
On May 31, Debbie MC’d the Pride Flag raising in downtown Framingham at City Hall. It was attended by some Edwards Church folks and several others. After the flag raising ceremony, OUT Metrowest had a festival in the downtown common.
JLA will be planning a picnic at Ms. Myrna’s home in July (see Announcements for additional information).
The Juneteenth Celebration was held on June 20 from 1 – 6 pm. It featured food, vendors, games, activities, arts & crafts, picture booth, music, raffle giveaway, scholarship awards, and live performances.
Heather Gonzalez helped plan this event and Edwards Church members attended.
Upcoming Events
An after-church action was discussed to follow up on our Peacemaking worship series.
Also discussed was a follow-up to the conversation on Restorative Justice, moving beyond personal to systemic (skill building). It could potentially be a Seeds of Grace service or Just Peace Players event.
Noah and Peggy will shop in August for food for the FSU students and deliver it to Framingham State.
We are coordinating this with First Parish.
Edwards Church will be a sponsor of the Literacy Unlimited Program at the Framingham Public Library for their Gala event on November 19 in Nevins Hall (downtown Framingham).
