In November, we will join with the entire congregation in our All Saints’ Communion worship service, as we reflect on the gifts we have received from the cloud of witnesses that have gone before us. We will enact our stewardship theme, “A Beacon of God’s Light: Powered by People,” in a variety of ways. We will bake cookies for the Veterans’ Dinner. We will collect pasta for A Place to Turn and use some of it to create a “beacon of light.” We will add candles to the beacon with each pledge made.
Watch for Popcorn!
Our Three Sisters Garden has been harvested (except for the tiny squash; we’re still waiting to see if they will get any bigger). We had handfuls of tasty beans. And we have dozens of tiny ears of Strawberry Popcorn!
They are currently drying in the office building. Watch out! Some Sunday, when you least expect it, we will pop strawberry popcorn in church!
Youth Spiritual Exploration Continues
Our youth (6th-12th graders) have gathered for two evenings of pizza, silly games, and profound conversation about faith. They ask thoughtful and insightful questions, and they bring unique perspectives on our faith.
They will meet monthly for fellowship and faith exploration, with an opportunity for Confirmation in the spring.
Scheduled meeting dates include: November 8 (helping at the Veterans’ Dinner), December 13, January 10, February 28, April 11, and May 23. We may add in some special projects as well.
